Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Jr. Sales Manager to join the team!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Jr. Sales Manager
  • The Jr Sales Manager Level is responsible for effectively becoming familiar with all accounts in his/her market segments and proactively prospecting/soliciting, generating, and closing on assigned accounts/territory business to positively impact hotel revenues.
  • This is a training position designed to develop individuals into Sales Manager/Sr. Sales Manager position while experiencing and contributing to the hotel
  • Use your property’s computerized sales management system to manage the hotel’s business, including (but not limited to) generating reports, entering rooming lists, blocking space, building accounts, and logging activities.
  • Proactively drive top-line revenue for customary sales segments to include SMERF and Tour & Travel group, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of required reports in a timely manner.
  • Assist in implementing special promotions relating to direct sales segments, i.e. parties, sales blitzes, etc.
  • Develop a complete knowledge of company sales policies and SOPs and ensure knowledge of and adherence to those policies by the sales team.
  • Regularly contact existing accounts
  • Attend daily hotel meetings.
  • Develop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel, including Food and Beverage, Front Office, and Housekeeping.
  • Meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Conduct a professional, thorough site inspection of the hotel with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits of the property.
  • Initiate and follow up on leads.
  • Handle inquiries all inquiries.
  • Meet and greet onsite contacts.
  • Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of information.
  • Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, activities, and events.
  • Operate the Sales Department within the established sales expense budget.
  • Review meeting planner evaluations with the Director of Sales to ensure that issues receive follow-up
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Or Higher): Preferred
  • Hospitality Sales: 2 Years or More (Required)
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous hotel front desk experience preferred
  • Computer Knowledge/Skills: MS Office
  • Highly focused and motivated
  • Knowledge of LightSpeed is a plus
  • Professional in appearance and presentation
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized
  • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.
